CoinCheck, one more Japanese cryptocurrency exchange, has suffered from a hacking attack. Ripples in the sum of more than 120 mln USD were stolen from the users` accounts.
During the investigation it was revealed that all funds have been stored in a single wallet with a very low security level. So, only a lazy hacker would not take advantage of the opportunity.
The company announced that all money will be returned to users. For the refund, the company intends to use the own capital. The company is still reviewing how and when the refund will be possible. Though the exchange has already announced that the refund will be made in Japanese national currency based on the exchange rate that was actual at the time when the hacking attack hit the exchange.
