A new version of Casper code is released on the 8th of May. Casper is a planned improvement project for Ethereum network consensus protocol. This Tuesday, Danny Ryan, one of the developers of Casper, posted the first release of the Casper code on github. Those updates shall help clients and auditors to track contracts and make changes in them easier.
Now, not only the Ethereum research team is using the contracts, but many other parties, such as auditors, clients and so on. So, it is important to support the clear version and update it constantly to keep everybody happy.
Casper FFG (Friendly Finality Gadget) was published in October previous year, and its main target was to solve the issues with the finality of transactions through validator deposits and crypto-economic incentives. In April, the hybrid Casper FFG was introduced. The main target of hybrid casper is to move network away from the ideas and issues that are associated with cryptocurrency mining.
The hybrid Casper will in the end combine the Proof-of-Work and Proof-of-State consensus, which shall make the system more independent on mining.
