EU Market Regulators Are Going to Implement ICOs Regulation

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has made an announcement that it is going to examine the Initial Coin Offerings to check the options of how they might be regulated. This report was made on the 8th of October 2018.

The regulator was established in Paris in 2011, and its target is to create rules for the European market and to supervise them. The ESMA work in collaboration with other European regulators in such fields as banking, insurance and occupational pensions.

Now, the ESMA is going to access ICOs for the subject of their compliance with the regulations on securities that already exist. As well, there will be checked the ICOs impact on the sector of fundraising.

There are very different opinions about ICOs, some specialists believed that they can be developing without any specific rules, but it didn’t work. Others believed that they were not viable at all, but these opinions were not proven by life. now, the time came to impose some regulations, to provide some safety for customers.
