Evan Cheng has been working for Facebook, the engineering department, for about three years. Now, he will work in the same position in the recently established blockchain team of the company.
He has already updated his profile in the LinkedIn network, and the company has already confirmed the news. Before, he was responsible for Programming Languages and Runtimes at Facebook, and before he got that position, he was working for Apple, back end engineering department. That position had been taken by him for almost ten years.
But the new position isn’t his only occupation for now. It is known, that Mr. Cheng is providing consultancy cervices to a number of blockchain-related projects, including Zilliqa, a blockchain platform in Singapore.
Facebook has surprised everybody when it banned ICOs ads and cryptocurrency ads earlier this year. Later, however, the company make things simpler and allowed ads of cryptocurrency. David Marcus, the head of the messaging app, has announced, that the company will check the benefits and the risks of the blockchain technology to decide how to deal with it in future.
