Christina Sandler, the former head of institutional sales at the American cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, has joined Fidelity Digital Assets. She has been appointed head of sales and marketing. Her new position was announced in a press release published on April 10.
In her new role at the digital assets trading and custody platform, Sandler will be in charge of the expansion of Fidelity Digital Assets into new markets. She will be also responsible for the service to institutional customers.
Sandler has been a long-time executive in the financial environment. She has occupied other key positions at Barclays Investment Bank and NYSE Euronext.
She was the head of equity electronic sales for the Americas, and executive vice president and global head of sales, respectively. She also was the head of electronic sales at Merrill Lynch, an investment and wealth management company.
In October last year, Fidelity announced it was building a crypto trading and storage platform. It was launched in March this year, and has begun onboarding clients. Fidelity head, Tom Jessop, mentioned that the platform is not complete yet and the company is still working on several of its parts. Currently, Fidelity offers bitcoin services only. Nevertheless, other cryptocurrencies could be added in the coming months.
