Ars Technica reported about another cryptojacking, this time, it has affected YouTube. Google resolved this issue during just some weeks, though the fact is there.
The reports give the information that hackers have managed to run some ads on YouTube that consume the CPU power of the user and electricity, that are used for cryptocurrency mining of the hacker.
All was disclosed after the users started posting comments and complaints that their antivirus software detected and blocked the malware.
The virus targeted Japan, France, Italy, Spain and Taiwan. Hackers have managed to place the mining malware via Google DoubleClick ad platform.
Google has announced that the unpleasant issue has been solved within some hours. Though Google hasn’t provided any additional data, so, the exact timeframe when the malware was stealing the CPU power and energy from the users, is still not known.
