Western Union, one of the main global money transfer services, will not add cryptocurrency transfers to its service, at least, in the nearest future. The main reason why is that the company sells the customers the services the customer want. And they tend to prefer fiat money.
As well, banks prefer not to deal with cryptocurrency, as fiat money are safer. This is also one of the reason why Western Union doesn’t consider cryptocurrency for now. Last year, the company was very clear regarding the cryptocurrency, there was even a campaign launched against wire transfer in cryptocurrency, as this is against the company internal regulations.
However, the company doesn’t deny that the blockchain technology has more chances to be implemented, it even started testing a Ripple payment network.
